Coaching Tips 1: Doing The Impossible

These are the lessons I am learning...

Coaching Tips 1

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing." - David Beckham, Nike Advert.

Sports champions, business greats, and science geniuses know this simple truth.Just as Kennedy in the sixties, astonished the world by the promise to put man on the moon before the decade was out, sports heroes have, with the help of coaches and team mates, stretched themselves way past their own impossibilities.

It is not the economic climate, or your talent that will stop you. Nor your education or your resources. It's the simple belief that you CAN'T or you CAN that makes the difference. Your accomplishments have less to do with your current capacity, and more to do with what you believe you can achieve.

This is as true in business and life as it is on the soccer field. I found that hard times have taught me this more than any other time in my life. The times when everything looks like it is falling apart, when I am stretched to my limit THIS is when the boxes of my mind breakthrough and be come determined that no matter what, anything is possible. In fact, the more proactive we are in the downturns of the game, in our business and in our life, the more set we are to fly when the winning stretch turns in our favor.

Remember the words of South African Nobel Peace Prizewinner and first President of South Africa, "It always seems impossible until it is done.

What is your impossible? Now is the time.
