    What are people searching for?

I know that it is a weird question, but I will ask it again, what are people searching for?

Come on let us be honest, you do not go to work just because you like your work. There is something that you are looking for and your work is one way of locating whatever it is.

The truth is, what people are searching for is already inside them. The truth is inside YOU.

Am I saying that you are already a millionaire, already a CEO of your own company and a leader in your work field?

The answer is a BIG YES. What you are really searching for is a way to your dream, rather than the dream itself.

Finding your life

From a young age we are all instructed and made to believe that the single most important thing that we must find is, ourselves. We are told that finding yourself is a symbol of maturity and the first step to independency.

I partly agree with this old age wisdom, but believe that it is only half of the truth. I still have not met someone who could fully explain what is it (about me) that I have to find. Lack of clarity into what you are actually searching for, means that you will never ever be sure if you have found it or not.

In my research, I found that the bible clarified this mysterious search of a better lifestyle.

Matthew 10:38 Jesus Christ says “Whoever finds his life will lose it and whoever loses his life on my account will find it”. Initially, the Lord statement seems to contradict what I have always believed. It seems to emphasize the fact that I should be focused on letting my life rest upon his life, rather than attempting to find and seize my own life.

Lower vs. Higher Life

In my struggle I turned to my spiritual beliefs in an attempt to resolve this persistent question. I discovered that there are only two types of lives on earth, the lower life and the higher life. The lower life is any life that is controlled by the mind.

This is life that is managed by what was, a life that depends on your gift of sight. People who live the lower life, believe that their future fully depends on their action only. They believe that by working hard they WILL succeed.

To be honest there is nothing wrong with believing the Lower life ways of things, but it also not the right way. The tipping point in anyone who is living the lower life comes when they face challenges that their minds cannot seems accept/resolve.

Due to the fact that their mind cannot seem to come up with a solution, they finally believe that “is how life is supposed to be”. How many people still believe and say that “work is supposed to be pain, you cannot have fun at work”?

Some still say “The only way a woman can have a happy and successful marriage is by being strong and tolerant to any bad behavior from the husband.”

Good people, anytime you accept mediocrity, you are living in the lower life. Anytime you believe that the mere fact that you are unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel, means that you have to accept the way things are, you are now dwelling in the lower life.

For people living the higher life, their foundation is vision. Vision has the ability to unlock the gate of what was and is, and propels you into a land of what could be and has not yet been. In simple terms vision sets you free from the limitations of now!

Those living the higher life know that their only duty is to re-position themselves for the solutions. They have made peace with the fact that they do not have all the answers that challenges throws at them, but they have not given up the desire to live the good life.

People living the high life believe that there is something more powerful than their mind; they believe that life is only a way to reach specific points in life where they can be “blessed” beyond their imagination.

They have taken the weight of making everything work from their shoulders and placed in on the Lords shoulder. They have finally realized that their only duty is to reposition or rather, to follow him and be always next to him.

After spending time with people who are living the higher life, I hear them saying “I am not worried, he will take care of these”, “I have cast my burdens unto him, and he is the alpha and omega”.

Conclusion: What you are searching for is something much higher.

The biggest different between those who are living the lower life and those who are living the higher life is how they describe their challenges. Lower life people spend 90% of their time dwelling on the type and size of their challenges, while higher life people spend 90% of their time praising and thanking their savior, and they never stress about the type of mountain or challenge they are facing.

My brothers and sisters, join me in taking the easy road. Stop spending your time on earth searching for something, but focus on repositioning yourself. By repositioning yourself next to the fountain of life, your life will never run dry. Today, the Lord is waiting for you to ask him to be responsible for your life. Pray and ask him to take over, and you will see the Lord take your ordinary and transform it into the extraordinary.

Amen
