Ten years ago, I lived in a suburb of students, artists and activists. Ten years before that, it was predominantly a deeply religious Jewish community. It is now home to people from all over the African continent. It's still vibrant and alive. Its essence hasn't changed that much....... but it's not the same for me. Perhaps change happened too quickly for me, because some people from the old community are enthralled by this new world. I, however, feel like a stranger in my own home. I long for the old days.
